Safety and Health Training

 

  • Vaughn Industries new hire orientation and safety training covers awareness level disciplines that address hazard recognition and means of elimination or control of those hazards.  All our employees to receive OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety within their first few weeks of work and complete OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety courses within their first 180 days of employment. 
 
  • Vaughn Industries shall continue to train & educate employees in disciplines per business line & professional occupation. Employees shall be provided with annual refresher training as required by company policy, contractual agreement, OSHA regulations, or any other regulatory commission requiring an annual re-training. In addition; any employee holding licenses in the areas of; Fire Alarm, Natural Gas Services, & any other specialty licenses required for our trades.
 
  • Refresher training provides the employee with a reality check for complacency and awareness to eliminate the at-risk behavior. If an employee(s) is found to be operating in violation of any regulation, policy, procedure or standards, including safety and operational guidelines, refresher or re-training shall be provided to ensure that future operations are performed properly. 

  • Vaughn Industries conducts task oriented training and utilizes a “task qualified” approach when defining the knowledge, skills, and abilities of all employees. Vaughn Industries conducted 8,461Man-hours of formal training in 2008. Training included construction safety & health, on-going training & education, & refresher or re-training.   Man-hours for Weekly Tailgate Safety Meetings & Apprenticeship classes are not included in the 8,461 Man-hours of formal training in 2008.
