Vaughn Industries and Logan County Cooperative Power and Light Association, Inc. have worked together many times in the past but none of these ventures will stand out as much as during the January 2005 ice storm that devastated northern Ohio.Logan Cty FEMA-1.JPG

The start of things was just before
noon on January 5, 2005 when Dave Yanchik from the Logan County Cooperative in Ohio called Vaughn Industries asking for possible assistance with the potential devastation looming in the horizon. Vaughn Industries responded by notifying the crew that was presently working with Logan County Cooperative and in a short time we were mobilizing in a pro-active effort with Logan County Cooperative to maintain and restore power to their consumers into the night of 1/5/06. The storm became overwhelming at Logan County Cooperative just as it did through most of Northern Ohio that night and eventually it got to the point that crews had to re-group and wait for daylight to go back at it.Logan Cty FEMA-3.JPG

Vaughn Industries worked side by side with Logan County Cooperative for the next six days, with some workers putting in 90 hours, in miserable conditions restoring power to the consumers. Vaughn Industries is very proud to be able to say that we worked with Logan County Cooperative helping their consumers get power back to heat their homes in what was some times sub-zero windchill
Logan Cty FEMA-2.JPG factors. The many people across the state of Ohio that were involved in this effort deserve a great deal of gratitude from everyone who was affected by this storm and yet most of them will tell you that they would do it again without a thought just for the opportunity to help.

After the storm came the time to re-group and re-build and once again Vaughn Industries is proud to say that we are working hand and hand with Logan County Cooperative to make this happen. The Logan County
Cooperative took another pro-active position by applying for and receiving FEMA funding to return their power system to a reliable source. Together Vaughn Industries and Logan County Cooperative will be rebuilding around 100 miles of power line which will be complete by the end of 2008.

This job is a perfect example of what is possible in this great country when two motivated organizations work together to accomplish a mutual goal.
