AEP Fremont 69 KV Rebuild
January 11th 2009 Vaughn Industries L.L.C. began a project with AEP in the Fremont Ohio area. The project was a 2 mile re-conductor job that consisted of 31 new structures and of those 31 structures 1 was a three pole dead end and four were dead end H-frame structures. 60 percent of this job was off road which covered going down through the middle of River Cliff Golf Course, crossing of the Sandusky River and through a community park.
The Condux AFS 404 is a new piece of machinery on the market today that was utilized by Vaughn Industries for the pulling of the 556 ACSR conductor. With the hydraulically controlled system the galloping and sagging of the conductor during the pull was eliminated.
This project was done during a mild winter where there was not much frozen ground and at the completion minimal property damage was done in the park area with no damage reported on the golf course.
